Final Journey - A Personal Invitation from Vera Kriplani

December 16, 2010

Dear Friend,

A few years ago I received an invitation from my friend Ravi Sahay to attend a seminar that addressed religious, medical, legal, and financial issues related to old age and one’s "final journey".

Since we had elderly relatives living with us and like most people had limited knowledge about such matters, my husband and I decided to sign up for this free seminar.

At the seminar we met representatives from the San Diego temples as well as professionals from the legal, financial, hospice and mortuary systems. We found the seminar very informative – for example, it helped us develop an understanding of the procedures and processes involved before final rites can be administered and what kind of funeral service options are available.

The financial advisor and attorney also made some very good points that made me question the trust we already had in place. A few weeks later we went to a couple of financial seminars and now our financial plans are in much better shape. Although we attended this seminar because of our elderly relatives we realized that the information was valuable for people of all ages.

The next seminar is being held in January of 2011. The seminar details are as follows:

Date and Time: Saturday, January 15, 2011.  10:00am-2:00pm
 Location:  San Diego Hospice, Hillcrest

When you RSVP please leave your name clearly, so we can reserve a book for you. The seating is limited and this seminar fills up fast so call or email today.

RSVPs are requested by January 10th so that the seminar organizers know how many attendees to prepare lunch for. The delicious prasada lunch will be catered by the ISKCON temple.  To RSVP call: 1-858-643-5757 or send an email to : finaljourneyseminar@yahoo.com

In closing let me say that the seminar helped me understand and deal with the issues of mortality, terminal illness, and proper financial/legal planning.

I encourage every member of our community, young and old, to spend a few short hours at the seminar. There is no soliciting for business, just professionals volunteering their time to help our community.

The information you gather will be invaluable!

    Sincerely,
      Vera Kripalani
